Countdown Day # 2
Another day of an early start. Today I chose to get up at 6:30am so that I can get things done. The main things I was able to accomplish were financial aid paperwork, MP3 player and most of all - the RUN. There is a lot of F-in’ paperwork around this Fin Aid! I loaded an old friend of mine on my MP3 player – DJ Kikk – the artist and the record itself are my old friend.
While running I was having philosophical thoughts about the process of dissipating my extra body fat. I didn’t realize that I actually had a good chunk around my waist. Not accidentally they are called fat deposits, it takes a while to exhaust them. At first I thought that it is ridiculously slow looking at my belly, but today it donned on me that in fact the loosing process starts from the very back of the “fat-bags” and simultaneously the very top of the abs, than it goes on the side (the Milenhandles) and the lower part of the belly comes last in line.
I don’t remember if I mentioned that I run to the Ocean every day. Seeing the water briefly is the best part. I get a chance to still a glance of the Ocean at the end of Sea Street where it dead-ends at a miniature roundabout (rotary) with mini benches and cute little flowers. Today’s run was somewhat special. It was the regular 4.5 miles or 40 minutes run, but it was drizzling, at first, and at the end turned into rain. I run topless because I’m always afraid that I’m gonna be hot and it was funny today to see people wearing raincoats and jackets while I’m running half naked. Or actually it’s the other way around. I can only see the Ocean for few seconds while circling the mini-rotary. Today it looked like form a old storm painting – it was misty and dark and the Ocean was gray and it looked acrimonious it also seamed empty and immeasurable.
I was an overcharge at work the pre-vacational fever is shaking me well. I could barely wait for the endless day to finally come to conclusion. Thursdays are very busy so I didn’t get out of there till 8:00pm. Bad for the gym, it deeply cuts in my workout time. I was able, however, to fulfill my entire 1st Friday workout by Ketie – 3 exercises for chest, 3 for biceps and 2 for abs.
After the gym I had dinner with Joan, watched a Firefly and now (@ 12:09 am) I’m doing my blogging for the day. I was originally planning to do my luggage for tomorrow but I suppose I’ll get up early and deal with the whole thing.

Countdown Day # 3
I woke up ridiculously early this morning – 6:15am – without wanting to and I had gone to bed at 12:30am. I actually used the time wisely:
Folded laundry
Finished FAFSA application
Setup an online bill payee
Picked at some of the Cape Blogs
Finally talked to my brother. It was awesome to catch up.
Did the Run – 4.5 miles. It doesn’t get any easier!
Work was a drag today. Thank god for Kate being there so we could mischief all day. I’m suffering from the pre-vacation fever – I can’t wait for Friday to come. Speaking of which I have no time to get things done for my vacation. I was able to weasel out of work an hour earlier so I can go to the gym and wash my car before Kate came to my house for blog time. My work out was the 1st Wednesday of the program – 3 exercise for back, 3 for shoulder and 1 for abs. The shoulder was just fine and I shortened the abs because of the lack of time.
I had just finished vacuuming and polishing the interior of my car when Kate showed up. I made an exception with a beer and we read and laughed. When I went to reach for a beer I noticed something curios in the fridge, something covered with a cloth napkin, of course I lifted up the napkin to discover Marks cruel game. He apparently was teaching me a lesson in curiosity because I encountered the lucky-trash-sow vulva.
We laughed so hard that we needed to sit down. I, respectively, left a note to Mark on our joke-of-the-week board.
The sow is lucky-trash-sow because it usually stands next to the trash
, and on the chalkboard we usually keep a running joke (sometimes from a stupid TV commercial, sometimes something that I’ve said wrong in English, or sometimes something that Mark have said).
Speaking of Mark that’s a perfect highlight of his personality. He also always likes to create cozy atmosphere for himself and he loves fire. Mark always fires up the fireplace in the winter, he doesn’t have a gas grill but always grills on charcoal one. Here is how Mark spends a quiet early summer night by himself – he has a special bonfire barrel!
That was what I found in the yard last Sunday morning before he was leaving fishing.

Countdown Day # 4
The excitement is picking up! I just spoke with Peter from NYC and we both got so pumped up for the upcoming vacation.
I’m proud of the extra effort I put in today. I got up at 7:30am and did the run – 4.5 miles or 40 minutes. It followed a long 10-hour day at work during which I continuously was checking on my shoulder debating whether I should try and work out tonight. Kate and I discussed the option of fulfilling our plan from yesterday but since she has to get up at 2:30am and I was keen to find out how bad my shoulder is we parted and I paid a visit to the gym. Thus, I’m glad to announce that I completed an absolutely satisfactory 1st Monday workout by Ketie – 3 exercises for chest, 3 for biceps, 2 for triceps and 1 for abs. I was of course very cautious not to do something stupid and I lifted a bit lighter weights than usual.
Happy from the ability to train I swung by the bookstore for some spiritual food. I was planing on borrowing a book from the library but since I live for work before it’s open and come back after it’s closed I decided to actually BUY a book. I’ve had my eye set on Henry James, for the longest time, so I picked up 2 books indeed – “The Portrait of a Lady” and “the Turn of the Screw and Other Short Fiction By Henry James.” I hope to enjoy them, I’m a bit afraid that the language might be too high, but that’s the point anyway. I’m trying to examine the mastery of writing a paragraph long sentence without a run on. I’ll definitely let you know if I liked them.

Abomination
a·bom·i·na·tion
n.
Abhorrence; disgust.
A cause of abhorrence or disgust.
abomination
n 1: a person who is loathsome or disgusting 2: hate coupled with disgust [syn: abhorrence, detestation, execration, loathing, odium] 3: an action that is vicious or vile; an action that arouses disgust or abhorence; "his treatment of the children is an abomination"
abomination
This word is used, (1.) To express the idea that the Egyptians considered themselves as defiled when they ate with strangers (Gen. 43:32). The Jews subsequently followed the same practice, holding it unlawful to eat or drink with foreigners (John 18:28; Acts 10:28; 11:3).
(2.) Every shepherd was "an abomination" unto the Egyptians (Gen. 46:34). This aversion to shepherds, such as the Hebrews, arose probably from the fact that Lower and Middle Egypt had formerly been held in oppressive subjection by a tribe of nomad shepherds (the
Hyksos), who had only recently been expelled, and partly also perhaps from this other fact that the Egyptians detested the lawless habits of these wandering shepherds.

Countdown Day # 5
Even though I went to bed relatively early last night I felt tired this morning. My shoulder bothered me slightly in my sleep. It was funny when I got up and reached the floor with my left foot and said a loud “OUCH!” First my hip that hurts from running then my brand-new left shoulder ache and on top of it my left foot hurt too. I knew about the hip and the shoulder but what was with the foot?! I then recalled that someone dropped a ponderous hook, at the end of a rope, on my foot while on the boat. Ridiculous I tell ya! I realized that I’m not gonna be able to lift weights tonight so I forced my self to go for a run. I did the familiar 4.5-mile run around the block and didn’t have time for breakfast.
Work was ok. I worked with Kate and we giggled all day in between the busy. Since I wasn’t working out and she doesn’t have a PC we made great plans to come to my house and read the Blog. That plan failed through cuz I got a phone call reminding me to go to some type of a job fair.
A little prehistory about that. Some random lady-customer of mine asked me over the line if I would be interested in working for Citi Financial – it’s a big company you know, the one with the umbrella. I figured that it wouldn’t hurt to check it out. I’m so mad now that I ruined my plans with Kate who even drove with me to there to see if it wouldn’t take too long. This “seminar” (the quotes are done with fingers) end up being some freaking pyramid-scheme-like sectish shit. Complete cock-and-bull’s-eye talkers saying stuff of the sort – “wouldn’t you like to make 10-20 thousand a month?” absolutely ridiculous. And the best part was when they forced people to sign the applications and give them $199 to register. It goes something like that – “we pay for your licenses ($1700) and train you, and all you can loose if you don’t want to do it is $40.” Blah, blah, blah… doesn’t that sound scary?

Countdown Day # 6
Today was a looooooooong and exciting day! I worked from 10:30 to 3:30 and after work met with dear friends – Kate, Steff, Cliff and Tommy at the Portuguese festival in Falmouth. The thing is a blast and reminded me, a lot, a Bulgarian gathering from my childhood. Big laughs, beers and food. Cliff was so cute, he is always excited to show stuff and introduce you to new and unexplored ventures. He was introducing us all, passionately, to the traditional foods. After drinking beers, blowing bubbles, playing with the kids and enjoying the feast we all ate – Bifana (Beef-a-na) and Ca Ciola (Ka-sir-la). With full belies and buzzed heads we moved to Cliff and Steff’s house and from there, across the street, to the pond. That was the highlight of the day. Steff and I, in charge of the entertainment, went for a swim and did a performance on the floating dock. It was a triathlon – singing, jumping, and synchronized swimming. The very unfortunate news is that I injured myself during the performance. I’m not quite sure how, but I almost dislocated my left shoulder’s rotating cup. I have done that 10 years ago and it hurts a lot. I’m really upset because it completely ruined my 4th of July madness contest. Regardless of the accident we went on Tommy’s boat and did some crazy tubing (To ride or float on an inflated tube for recreation). That was awesome! We then continued back at the house with margaritas and dinner.
That was my first real summer fun free of any school burden. Well I didn’t do much exercise, except the swimming, but it was a Sunday. There was a dancing opportunity for after 10pm but I skipped on it because I felt tired and quite satisfied.

Countdown Day # 7
After a bad day at work, yesterday, I had a better one today.
I went to bed late (1:00am) but was able to rise early and go to the gym for my “soft cardio” – 15 min stationary bike and 15 min stair master.
As I already said work was ok.
I rushed to the gym after work to squeeze in a quick shoulder workout – 3 exercises 4 sets each.
I then took shower and drove to Chatham to hang out with Megy. We had a blast cooking delicious Bulgarian foods drinking beers etc.

Countdown Day # 8
I had a bad, bad day at work today. It really sucks cuz I started very well. Since I finished my homework and final last night I didn’t get to sleep in but I was able to go to the gym and do my “low-impact” cardio exercises – 15 min on the stair-master and 15 min on the bike. I pick a better stationary bike today and got more satisfactory results. I showered at the gym and went into work. I felt very good – had a lot of energy and I was focused.
I don’t really wanna go into the whole bullshit so I’m gonna skip it and tell you only that I was outraged by my powerlessness. While at the gym after work, for my 2nd Friday workout by Ketie, I heard a Smashing Pumpkins’ song that goes something like “…in spite of my rage I feel like a rat in a cage…” it just sounded so right. As for the work out it turned to be great I did 3 exercises for back and 2 different supersets for biceps + triceps.
I think that I’m gonna break the diet and have couple of drinks tonight.

Countdown Day # 9
It’s really late! It’s 12:21am. I just finished my final exam and all 3 tax returns for Saturday – yeiiiiii!
Regarding my 4th of July madness contest with myself I took it relatively easy today – did 15 min on the stair-master and 15 min on the bike at the gym. I didn’t run outside for the purpose of a low impact exercise because of the pain and aches I mentioned yesterday.

Countdown Day # 10
Wow, the count is down to 10! It was my second day off for this week and I was able to accomplish a bunch of stuff. Unfortunately I’m not going to have a day off until the following Saturday.
First thing in the morning I finished laundering whites.
At 9:00 I had a dentist annoynment – last year I got all my cavities fixed, I visited the dentist’s office at least 6-7 times. I don’t comprehend what’s wrong with my teeth! I’m very strict about flossing and brushing twice a day, by and large I don’t eat much sugar, I don’t even drink soda. I don’t get it! The dentist told me that I have 2 new once. He even put me on prescription toothpaste.
Right after the dentist annoynment I stopped by work (it’s across the street) to perform a loan closing and got my stuff ready for my school reimbursement. Speaking of that, I have no idea whether the education-department-lady is dealing solely with that but she sucks. First it took her 3 months to send me a reimbursement check last time and then when I requested an in-front payment it was late so that I got a late fee. To top it off, instead of paying the school she sent ME a check, which I had to turn over to a money order so it was even “more late”. Unfortunately that wasn’t the end of the story – a day after I saw the payment clearing they made a payment too. Out of morality I called her to let her know and after she talked to accounts payable she had the guts to ask me to call the school and request the extra payment back. I read her to filth explaining that I can’t deal with their mistakes and that they should take care of their screw-ups. Lovely isn’t it!
Then grocery shopping and from there to the gym.
Being a Wednesday I did my 2nd Wednesday workout – 3 exercises for chest, 3 for shoulders and 2 for abs. I was supposed to do legs instead of abs but my legs hurt so much from running that I prefer to not pressure them with squats so that I can run. I’m surprised how much my legs ache. I don’t feel tired but the muscles of my legs are in pain, especially where they attach to the bones.
When I got home I spent 1.5 hours cooking and cleaning. I cooked 6 or 7 chunky chicken breasts and a bucket of sautéed veggies.
I was also able to finish all 3 tax returns and most of my final for Saturday.
Meanwhile, I squeezed in the 4.5-mile run around the hood and the ocean.
I finished the day, delightfully, having dinner with my lovely Joan, who had cooked delish stuffed papers, asparagus, and salad (I looooov anything South Beach diet), over the next episode of Firefly.

Countdown Day # 11
It was a nice summer day today. I had a lot of things to do though. First thing in the morning I pulled all of school related paperwork so I can figure out reimbursement. After that Joan helped me to fill out the government paperwork to get declined for a grant so that I can apply for a student loan. You can imagine how tedious that is. We’ve been watching a new TV series called Firefly so we sneaked one episode in.
I went to the gym around 1:00pm and did a nice biceps workout 3 exercises 4 sets each.
I then worked on my homework for a few hours until a friend came and took me to the beach for an hour break. When I came home, after a short debate I went for my regular now everyday-4.5mile run = 40min. After that an outdoor shower and more school till 1:00am.

Countdown Day # 12
I tried something different today. I got up at 6:30 and did my run in the morning. It was a heroic 4.5-mile run. I then took an outdoor shower and off to work. I felt very vital at work for most of the day.
After work I did my regular 2nd Monday workout as part of my 2-week cycle program created by Ketie. I did 3 exercises for back, 3 for triceps and 2 for abs. I also increased the protein intake – I switched my 25g protein shakes for 50g. I had a turkey meatloaf with rice for lunch. Joan made the meatloaf and it’s the best meatloaf ever.

Countdown Day # 13
Today is Sunday and I worked 4 hours, it was busy for a Sunday. I had planned to do many things but Steff called me and I end up going to the Portuguese festival in Cotuit. That was a complete disaster for my 4th of July Madness contest – I ate pork sandwich on white bread and also pork with cabbage. The overkill was the 2 or 3 Budweisers.
Since I had gone out last night and didn’t go to bed until 3:00am I came home after the festival – around 6:00pm and past out asleep for 2 hours.
I decided to not exercise so I can rest and start fresh tomorrow.

Countdown Day # 14
I had school today and I have a ton of homework to do. I have to prepare 3 tax returns – one for a C Corporation, one For S Corporation, and one for a Partnership. In addition I have to do my take-home final exam.
After school I hung out with Joan and then off for a 45-minute run (my longest run so far). An hour later I did a shoulder workout – 3 exercises.
I also stopped by the Cape Cod Nutrition Corner (the local store where I by all my supplements such as vitamins, protein, glutamine, and creatine), where I found out that I’m not taking enough protein per day! I’ll have to do something about that. I’m going to increase natural the protein intake through eating more meat, milk and nuts.

10:30 I gave up and I’m having dinner instead another protein shake. Dinner is 4 mini chicken fingers on top of a whole grain slice, covered with 1, fried without fat, egg and toaster-ovened with cheddar cheese. Much tastier than P Sh.
Oh, and by the way it’s Friday night which usually means beer or vodka drinks but not tonight – I can’t afford the carbs and I also have to rest! I’m such a good duby. The clock is ticking it is almost 4th of July!

Triceps day – 3 exercises for triceps and some abs. The same routine afterwards, 25g of protein and a 32-minute run.
It was tough today because I did this after a 11.5 hour day at work.

The admirer's attack
I got another ego-boost card. This one I find more elaborate. I'm starting to think that this is some type of a set up! LOL
What do you think?

Countdown Day # 17
Today is the starting day. At work I infused a new vigor into my diet – a special creatine supplement. I also did my regular Wednesday 1 workout – 3 exercises for back and 3 for shoulders, three sets of 7-9 reps each. After that I took a 25g of protein shake and ran for 20 minutes.

4th of July Madness
I have 17 days to achieve body transformation. My goal is to turn from "flab" to "fab" by working out and eating healthy. Aimed time is July 4th and the deadline is July 1st. As my brother likes to say "Dupe da ti e qko!" Sorry not translatable. Here are the starting point pictures - Before (flab), and hopefully I'll be able to post "After" (fab) pictures. It is too bad that I didn't think about that few weeks earlier when I was probably 7-8 pounds fatter. I realize that I'm not all that fat but the idea is to get rid of the love handles or as Omar endearingly called them the "Milenhandles" - the "h" is silent. LOL. Anyway, here are the Before pictures.

Comming soon!
I didn't have any time to write on the actual International Webbloggar's day but I came up with a great idea at the end of the day. I've been working out and I've been trying to get rid of as much fat as possible - BY 4TH OF JULY. Ooops, now it's official, being on here - if it's in the blog, you know it's seriouse! As I have mentioned already, I recently started jogging as well. So the up coming entry is going to be a "before and after" type-a-thing with pictures (like an infomercial). If I really get good results I'm planing on sharing workout program, diet and supplements. Wish me luck I'm seriouse.

International Weblogger's Day
I couldn't have failed to make an entry today, could I, now. I don't seem to have much time for my blog but I utterly love it and I think of it as my baby. I love to preserve stories for it, in my mind, and mainly fantasize how I'm gonna portray them on here. Most of the time I don't really write them all, but I'm always excited to say - "Oh, this is so going on my blog tonight!!!" I may skip big chunks of time but I don't think I'll ever give up - "it's the best," as I like to say a lot lately.
I'll soon have a counter too so I'm going to be absolutely official. I guess it wouldn't hurt if I knew how to put it on myself but Beccam always makes sure that I learn something new. I hope to be able to pay it forward one day and set someone's blog.
Besides all that, I'm happy to announce that my "bibobsy" came back - negative - today and despite my fears I'm tumor-free. That was good news before I have to face work tomorrow. Work - oooh, yuck!
In conclusion, I would like to thank Beccam one more time for setting up the blog for me, gifting it to me, for encouraging me, and technically supporting me all this time.

sick time
I was out of work for 7 days, on a medical leave, after a minor surgery last Wednesday. One would think that I would have all the time in the world to catch up on my blogging but alas that didn't happen. I was actually busy catching up on errands and school. The first few days I had to soak in the bathtub 2-3 times a day. It was tedious but I red a book and the last time I decided to do the movie thing with an actual bubble bath and burning scents - it was nice.
Call me crazy but the biggest inconvenience was the fact that I couldn't go to the gym. I made up for it today, however, I did my regular workout at around noon and around 7:30pm I did my longest run so far - 42minutes. It sad, but the truth is that I had to be on a medical leave to find time to invite people over my house for a dinner party. I cooked for 3 hours but it was totally worth it. What else did I do? I sure spent most of the time studying. I was able to:
Load music on my MP3 player
Read a book that is not school related
Visit a friend in Boston
Chill and relax
Look into financial aid
Spend time with Joan
But then again, never got to blog or to work on my typing or car CD player pictures. I'm really hoping to have more time when I finish this class.

Phone Messages
Kate and I have a thing with phone messages. We find it highly amusing to listen to the voice mail on our phones in our lunch breaks at work. It got to be such a big tradition that I decided to put some of them on my blog. Most of them are from Steff, but she is just so creative and apparently has a propensity to sing when wanting to tell me something.
I actually tried to put this message here over and over but I couldn't do it. Of course Beccam saved the day as she always does. I really tried hard!
With the generous support of Beccam I'm proud to present the beginning of a new rubric - "You've got voicemail"
