Tanning
After a long day in the sun...and two krispy kremes, I am spent. So much for weight loss. Tonight calls for reality tv, and a good night sleep. I am not tan, nor will I ever be tan. For being half portguese, my tanning ability is pathetic. I guarantee you my mother is a nice shade of brown right now. Oh well..I have a few months to perfect my skin tone...but we all know what the end result will be....pale ass Jesse:)

Jesse's Beach Day
Yup...I went to the beach yesterday, and YES I wore sunblock. Still got burned, but not quite so bad. It was really nice...not too hot or humid. I dont think I even broke a sweat. I walked all over the sand bars because it was low tide and took lots of pics! Do you like my new hat? I love it! I pretty much havent taken it off since I got it! Go Sox!
This is a view of where I work from the beach.
This was my view of Ptown from where I was sitting. After I layed out for about 3 hours I went to work. It was relatively uneventful. Just some checkins. This morning I worked too, relatively uneventful... just some check outs. We are sold out for the 4th...so the rest of my week will consist of denying New Yorkers rooms. Most importantly...I want to send Rebecca a big hug. She isnt herself...and there is nothing I can do...except maybe enlist....I will have to think about that one. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Not A Good Start To The Day
So my day started by only having enough shaving cream to shave one leg. Dont worry, I am not uneven, but the bathroom is soaked from my naked wet rummaging thru the cabinets. I am freshly shaved, and smelling fragrant as I sit here at work. Todays apparel....black skirt, tank top with sequin fruit, red flip flops, two tone earrings, big watch, and hair up in a clip. Not many people will see me, but atleast I made an effort. I am recruiting people for a much needed intervention at Rebecca's house. It appears that she has become addicted to caffeine. Her blogs have gone a little astray, and I am concerned that she never went to sleep last night. Oh well, better than smoking, or hitttin the bottle. I am already behind in Chinese Culture. Someone help me..I am forever over my head academically!

Not A Nick?
Apparently(according to Rebecca), the hot kid from last summer's precalc class was not named Nick. Hmmm....also, he does not go to Falmouth High School...he goes to Falmouth Academy. If Rebecca is a credible source, his name should appear in the following list...am I right?
2004 Falmouth Academy Graduates
Rachel M. Allen, Alexandra H. Baker, Pavol Ballon, Liam C. Brenner, Bre-anne E. Brown, Evan N. Dalton, Emily R. Denham, Karl E. D. Duane, Joseph N. Giacomelli, Thomas Hall, Michael B. Haney, Steven W. Heslinga, Kathryn G. Hickman, Nikolai J. L. Howe, Christa M. Hulburt, Grey R. Johnson, Michael J. Kowalski, Joanna M. Messer, Marielle A. Moore, Oliver J. Moore, Robert J. Nicholson, Sean P. O'Neill, Anne A. O'Regan, Blake J. Pearlstein, Whit K. Russell, Lauren H. Sasaki, J. Nathaniel Shaver, Evan E. Sipe, Joseph T. Smith, Chloe K. Starr, Laura L. Swanbeck, Colin N. Van Heynigen, Julia E. Wagner, Matthew W. Waterbury, Tristan A. Wickersham
Do any of these names look familiar? Rebecca...can you keep an eye out for this kid? Dont get arrested for stalking or anything...just keep him confined until we can get there.

Not About Poop
Well...I dont know if this will top Rebecca's poop entry...but stay tuned. I am at work. Because my step mother works out...like she is a body builder...the AC is on and its about 20 below in here. I have goose bumps...and the shivers. Today I put Dougie in his car seat and brought him with me. For those of you not familiar with Dougie...he is not a child...he is a laptop. It is an on going joke..and I know..I know..stupid. His carseat is his laptop bag. I very rarely take him out..mostly because I am lazy. I have been working on my Sociology paper. Its like pulling teeth. Sometimes I can sit down to write something and it comes so easily...and sometimes it doesnt. I think I have something suitable...but I guess I wont know until I get my grade. Things are relatively quiet around here, except for the foreigners who refuse to speak to each other in English while around me, even tho they speak English to me. They spent about 10 minutes debating the rate, and then bantered back and forth in their native tongue. How polite...I hate that crap. Today I have to do Chinese Culture stuff. Tonight friends come to stay! Was this as good as poop wrapped in hair? I doubt it!

Yee Hawwwwww
Jay and Kate called last night to say that they were coming by to see me. It was so good to see them. I haven't seen Jay since before Ben dumped me. I haven't seen Kate since she went home last summer. Both received big hugs. It was like the old gang again. We are the silliest when we are together. We headed up to my room, where we alternated watching The Top 40 Sexiest Country music videos, with some comedy central shows I have never seen. We laughed so hard I thought I was gonna burst. We sang along to the country songs. Putting 3 undersexed young adults in one room with sexy videos was enough for some humor. I think Jay was a little overwhelmed by us girls, but he is always up for whatever we throw at him. Kate mentioned she saw this cute kid we went to school with last summer at Norwich, where she goes to school. He was checkin the place out, and is hoping to go there. Of course none of us could remember his name. After sitting around forever, and going thru all common guy names, we have decided that his name must have been Nick. But how much good does "Nick" do us without a last name. We figured out that he must have graduated from Falmouth High School this year. Then we went online thinking we might find a list of graduates in newspaper archives. Mind you this was all done completely sober. I think Jay thinks we are nuts. Well, eventually we gave up. We thought of emailing the prof. we had, but then decided not to. If anyone knows a guy named Nick, who graduated from Falmouth High School, drives a Jeep, and plays lacross, please let me know. He is far too young for my pleasure, but damn cute for Kate! When it approached 1:30 we decided to call it a night. Jay had a long ride home afterall. It felt really good to see my friends again. Kate will be in Wellfleet this summer...this should be fun:)

Food For Thought
To start I look nothing like my parents. My father is six foot one with brown hair and brown eyes. My mom is five foot six with blue eyes. She had no hair until she was 4 years old and I think it has been dyed since then. As far as I know she was naturally blond...but who can tell. I have been told that my big(bug) eyes are inherited from her, but mine are dark, and hers are light.
I have often wondered if I could belong to one of the following: mailman, milkman, paperboy. We dont have mailmen, we are the only town in the state that doesnt have rural delivery. We didnt have a milkman. The paper comes to early for my mom to get out of bed. So I suppose after that critical analysis, I have to face the fact that I belong to these people.
My confusion is over this. I can be walking down the street in this town, and someone will stop me and say, "You have got to be Susan's daughter...you look just like her!" This can just as easily be substituted with, "You must be Dana's daughter...you look just like him!" This could just be punishment for living in a small community, but how on earth do these people pick me out? Granted I am the minority in this community of Portuguese decendents, but do I stand out that much?
So I get to my point. Since starting my "job" at the motel I have spoken to many people on the phone. These people are all regulars, and I have heard more than enough, "I remember you in diapers!" These people are eager to see how I have grown. I figure I will keep track of who they think I look like, and at the end of the summer the majority's opinion will rule. Maybe it was the UPS man? Wonder if there was an incredibly short UPS man in the area in 1982. I'll have to check into that.

Freakin Hell
Blog Blog Blog...there people...are you happy? I have been avoiding this blog...mostly because I havent wanted to write about how I have been feeling. I have been up to my ears in sociology. My two classes start on Monday. My sister comes for a week on Tues. Thurs friends of the family come for 3 weeks. I am overwhelmed. Is summer not supposed to be some sort of relaxing time. Oh yeah..we live on Cape Cod. Or is that "in" Cape Cod Rebecca? I am not good at this grammatical stuff. I have been monitoring my checking account down to the penny to make sure I will be able to afford fall tuition. I am also awaiting my insurance policy for next year. I am hoping it goes down because I will have had my license for 5 years. Cross your fingers for me. Brady has been a hellion. He is upset because I run in the morning. He hates the noise of the treadmill and the AC. He has been eatting my grandmothers flowers and the color has come of on his face. He is filthy. The word NO has never meant anything to him, so why should it start to now. I just sit in my pile of white cat hair and count my blessings. I have AC, food, and utilities that other people in the world do not. Quit my bitching. I work tomorrow while my father meets with a lawyer about selling off some investment property. Will this lawyer be attractive? Probably not but I can always dream. Does any man want a women that shops in the Sears children's department for clothes? I tell you, if I do not grow a few inches, I am doomed to spend the rest of my life sharing dressing rooms with 7 year olds. So as I am feeling down on myself I listen to spunky music. My new favorite song...Scandelous by Mis-Teeq. Check it out...its snazzy!

Tough Times
I have been having a tough time for probably the last week or so. This weekend I found myself terribly depressed. I tried to shrug it off by keeping my mind busy, but it didnt seem to work. Yesterday I saw Harry Potter, it was good, but when I got home I had some bad news. Ben sent me an email to tell me that his grandma(Grammie) had passed away on Monday. I was absolutely shocked. I guess she had a stroke so it was a shock to everyone. This was the person I think I was closest to in his family. She was the sweetest lady I have ever met. I kept telling myself that one day Ben and I would be okay enough that I would visit her and say goodbye. Now I never can. I think that my instincts were trying to tell me that something was wrong all weekend. I left a message for Ben and he called me back at 2 AM. We talked until 4:30. I never went to sleep after that. I cant wait for the day that he says is coming in the future, when I agree that what he did was the right thing. For right now, it still feels all wrong to me. We still talk like we have never been apart, still laugh, we still feel like family. I know when something isnt right with him, even if he doesnt know it. I cant stand having this connection to someone that I cant be with. He is handling this thing with Grammie as well as he can. I am amazed how strong he is being, but something tells me if he had someone to hold him he wouldnt be so strong. I need this constant pain to be lifted from my chest. It has been four months. I have gotten used to it, and learned how to deal with it, but I dont think the pain has gotten better. The love hasnt faded, for him or his family. I feel like I lost a member of my own family on Monday, but I didnt, and I have to face that. What can I do to let this all go? People keep saying time will heal it. How will I ever start a new relationship with my emotions being so raw? I would never want to drag some unsuspecting guy into that position. I just dont know anymore. He says he is happier now than he was then, but emotions are temporary. I am happier now than I was then too, it was a horrible experience. Someone tell me what the right thing to do is. Help me to understand how this is the right thing for me.
RIP Grammie~I LOVE YOU!

Woah
I am starting to think the internet knows me better than I know myself. Most of these stupid things I do are pretty accurate. Though I doubt that strangers think I am hot, it gives me just a little more self confidence. This weather makes me very sad. I studied Sociology today. I am really gonna try to do well in this class, because it is a stepping stone to what I wanna do with my life. Plus I want to keep the old GPA up for transfer prospects. Brady has been sleeping all day. Ronald Reagan coverage has got me significantly more depressed. Where is the news coverage on JLO? I was supposed to work tomorrow, but now my schedule has been changed. Tuesday I see Harry Potter. I still need to see Shrek! I cant wait to see it. Well I am outie...things to do...then pillows to hit!

?
I dont know about this one people.

Lonliness dominates you. You can hide it well, but
its there, and your friends can see it. You
constantly feel alone, and need to do things to
fill your time. Your afraid to tell people
this, but sooner or later it gets out in a bad
way, and you think you screwed up everything.
And when you are in love is when you are sad
the most. (Please Vote)

Late Night Chat
I didnt get to sleep until late last night, which explains why I am essentially useless today. I stayed up talking to my old friend, something that seems to be getting a little easer. One day at a time I keep telling myself. I dont cry about it anymore, even if I am tempted, I take a deep breathe and let it go. I am damn determined to be ok. I have made great strides to get better, and my improvements can even be noticed thru IM. Its hard to let go of a best friend, but I am glad that we are both making improvements in our lives. When we were done talking, I laid in bed and tried not to think. Brady cuddled me for a longtime, and eventually I fell asleep. Life does move on.
My job is by far the easiest I have ever had, and will ever have. I have cable tv, video games, internet access(hence this early morning blog), free soda and juice, free coffee, air conditioning, and $12 an hour. I will enjoy this while it lasts because no doubt the real world will appear before my eyes shortly.
I went off Cape yesterday. Went to Plymouth, Pembroke, just shopping and wandering. Got a few shirts on clearance at Target, a new comb for Brady, and a magazine for my mental pleasure. If if continues to rain everyday, my purple mood enhancing light bulb will not do the trick.
A very cute guy keeps coming into the office. I think he has been in 4 times this morning. He is from San Fransisco, but just arrived from Spain yesterday. I cannot automatically evaluate his sexual orientation, as I usually can, but the odds are not in my favor. There is a gay jewish wedding at the motel today. He cant be on this earth for me. The coffee is being sucked out of this place like there is a shortage. I guess I am not the only one feeling lethargic. I will probably take a good nap this afternoon. Then do some sociology reading. I have to get ahead for my classes, its gonna be a busy summer. Talk to you later.

PT NO GO VROOM
PT is sick. He doesnt always start, and when he does I have to pump the gas. Then he proceeds to shake and spit out horrible gas fumes. He has a doctors appointment tomorrow for an oil change. Hopefully they will be able to diagnose it. I think it must be some sort of fuel injection thing or something. I hope its not expensive. The car is under warranty, but with my luck its a maintenance issue. This puts a damper on my movement. I made it to work this morning, but took the backroads just in case PT decided he just couldnt do it anymore. Hopefully he will make it to the garage in the morning. Thursday is the wedding. Chairs are being dropped off tomorrow night. Should be interesting to see 80 people pack into the motel. This has never happened before. I will be working, and hiding simultaneously. I need a Krispy Kreme. My summer textbooks are on their way from AMAZON. My room is almost to my liking. Probably one more move...and I will be happy.
