Day 1 (?)

Moving the electrical supply cable (July 31, 2002).  Home Depot run for insulation (24 rolls R-19) and xx-large tarp.

I was safety observing and could not take action photos during the actual move.

Watch that wire, it's a live one!   As safety observer, I strung the caution tape.
Day 3 (?)

Dumpster arrival. Holly tree survived.

Backing in Dumping a dumpster The surviving holly tree One person width from the house

Day 6, Aug 5, 2002
So why is James picture here?  And why is he holding a paintball rifle?  Well the roof did not come off the house as planned today.   Thunderstorms are in the forecast.  For fun (not) the team decided to remove the blown in insulation from the attic.  Oh yeah.  A whole day covered with recycled paper dragged off to the dump in 50 gallon trash bags.

Day 6 (continued...)
James did have to drain his waterbed this morning though.   His room is looking awfully big without it.  That reminds me, isn't that really my waterbed?
Day 7 --  Aug 6, 2002
The saws are lined up on the ridge line, ready to get to work. The roof is cut into big squares.   I guess it's not so hip to be a square after all.
There goes the first piece... It better not rain now, all the 'puters are under there!

Day 9 -- Aug 8, 2002
The dumpster has been swapped, the decking is down, and the support for the back door deck is in.  PortaPotty delivered.

tn_shingles.jpg (5439 bytes)

Roof shingles are delivered.  I'm too short to see the roof, so I don't have any pics of it being installed.  Front was completed today (Aug 13)  the back will be installed tomorrow (Aug 14).

Day 16 -- Aug 15, 2002
tn_stairs1.jpg (3067 bytes) With the roof done, our crime fighters start on building the interior stairwell.  (It's a crime for me to climb ladders.) tn_stairs2.jpg (2939 bytes) After a full day of knocking down walls, there is a clear view from the second floor to the basement stairs.
Day 17 -- Aug 16, 2002
Stairs!

Just temporary, but I'll take 'um

The door...  ah... French... nice and bright.
Day 23 -- Aug 24, 2002
James bathroom fixtures.  Yeap, that's a seat in his shower... Here is my bath, minus the shower.  Nothing as special as James's seat...
Home Depot stopped by and dropped off these beauties. You wouldn't catch me dead on the scaffolding.  I guess that's why I'm not in construction.

Later that same year...

So here is some plumbing... After the plumbing and rough electrical, we added insulation and coax TV wires. This is the future wiring closet for the home network (internet).

The job is complete (but with little picture production).  Thanks to all those that skipped lunch to make it possible.
